Check before filing
- Company involved and breach date range.
- Official settlement administrator.
- Claim deadline and final approval status.
- Whether you received a notice ID or can file without one.
- Whether the claim is for cash, credit monitoring, reimbursement, or documented losses.
- Proof required for reimbursement claims.
Scam signs
- Promises a guaranteed large payment.
- Asks for a fee.
- Asks for bank details before you verify the official source.
- Uses pressure language or odd domain spelling.
- Arrives by text with a suspicious link.
