If you’re measuring SEO only by last-click traffic, zero-click will look like decline. Helps (when accurate and consistent):

Mostly placebo:

Blunt truth: winning the on-SERP answer is easy compared to extracting value from it. Your page has to be engineered so the snippet is the hook and the next step is the payoff. “Entity SEO” in plain English: Google doesn’t just index pages. It tries to index the world.

Clicks lie in zero-click SEO because the SERP is doing the “reading” for the user. That means you measure what you can control: how often you show up, where you show up, what you own on the SERP, and what downstream demand you create.
What you measure when clicks lie
