A CFPB-style complaint route is for consumer financial problems: banks, credit cards, payment apps, credit reports, mortgages, loans, debt collection, and related financial companies.
Rule: use it when the issue is financial-company conduct, not a normal retail refund.

Prepare first
- Company name and account/product type.
- Dates and timeline.
- What happened and what resolution you want.
- Copies of statements, letters, screenshots, and prior complaints.
